Petrovka Mall is a large-scale shopping and entertainment complex project in Kyiv, located in one of the city’s actively developing commercial districts, close to major transport routes and the Petrovka metro station.
The project was conceived as a modern multifunctional destination combining retail areas, entertainment facilities, public spaces and extensive parking infrastructure within a single architectural concept.
Scale and Functionality
The total area of the complex is approximately 213,000 m², with around 92,000 m² allocated to retail and commercial spaces.
The three-storey structure was designed to accommodate a large number of shops, services and entertainment facilities. A substantial parking complex was also planned for visitors, combining underground and outdoor parking areas with a total capacity of approximately 2,855 vehicles.
Architectural Solution
The building is based on a modern reinforced-concrete structural system. Its façades combine large glazed surfaces with ventilated façade systems, reflecting the architectural language commonly used in contemporary large-scale retail developments.
The considerable scale of the building required careful organisation of internal circulation, vehicle access and the interaction between retail, public and technical areas.
An Urban-Scale Development
Petrovka Mall was conceived not simply as a shopping centre, but as a major destination serving both the surrounding district and the wider city. Its position near important transport routes in Kyiv allows private and public transport connections to work together and provides convenient access from different parts of the city.
Result
Petrovka Mall is an example of a large-scale commercial development in which architecture, engineering infrastructure, transport accessibility and the organisation of high visitor flows must operate as a single integrated system.
The project demonstrates an approach to creating a modern shopping and entertainment complex designed for intensive use and the further development of the surrounding urban environment.
